As They Receive No Funding From The Government Towards Facility Management And Improvement. Teachers Earn A Modest Salary And The Facility Is Completely The Responsibility Of Those Who Attend The Church And The Parents Of The Students Themselves. Their Only Source Of Income To Improve Their Facility Has To Be Raised By The Church And Parents Of The Students And They Accomplish This By Holding Bake Sales And Other Meager Means Of Financial Assistance. We Will Do Our Best To Improve Their Facility While There!
In Honduras
We Get To Serve A Very Small And Underfunded Orphanage For Boys. They Have So Many Needs And We Will Be Able To Improve Their Facility With A Little Work And Service. In The Past We Have Purchased A Washer For Them And Also Done Some Painting, Repaired Their Fence And Other Such Projects. We Will Do Our Best To Improve Their Facility While There.
In Cozumel
We Will Get To Work In The City Of Angels Orphanage Which Only Accepts Children Who Have Absolutely No Support From Any Family Or Community. (Oct, 19th) Day 1: BON VOYAGE from Tampa, Florida
Today we board and explore our beautiful cruise ship. This massive ship will be our home away from home for the next 8 days. Enjoy exploring the various features of the cruise ship; pools, dining and food opportunities, chapel, study areas, spa, theaters, etc. We will all enjoy the welcome aboard festivities and events. Prior to dinner we will meet as a group for a meet and greet and to receive specific instruction relative to our group and activities for the week (5 to 6pm). This evening we will enjoy the variety of activities on board our ship.
(Oct 20th) Day 2: SEA DAY (INSPIRATIONAL SESSION)
Today we will enjoy all the amenities of the "Enchantment of the Seas" including a group activity. We will meet and plan for our service and activities in the various ports, but most of the day we will enjoy the on-board entertainment and relaxation! The afternoon will be free to enjoy the endless activities and opportunities provided by the cruise staff. There will be ample time to relax and enjoy some R&R, along with taking advantage of all the unique activities associated with cruise ship travel. We have dinner together as a group.
(Oct 21st) Day 3: SEA DAY
Today is another amazing day full of group activities, as well as on-board entertainment and relaxation! The afternoon will be free to enjoy the endless activities and opportunities provided by the cruise staff. There will be ample time to relax and enjoy some R&R, along with taking advantage of all the unique activities associated with cruise ship travel. We have dinner together as a group.
(Oct 22nd) Day 4: MOHAGANY BAY, HONDURAS (MONKEYS)
Roatan provides us some of our favorite shore excursions activities. Those choosing to participate in our service activities will begin by serving at either a local all-boys orphanage or at a local underfunded school there in Roatan. Both are in need of our help! We will be providing basic maintenance and interacting with the children. The rest of our day will be consumed with discovering the beauties of Honduras. This will be done with a visit to a local historical/educational site that includes orientation to the unique elements of the island of Roatan (Monkeys, iguana's, macaw birds, insects, zip line options, etc.) or those interested can discover this unique island by participating in an “Amazing Race” type activity where you will compete against other teams while discovering the beautiful island of Roatan. Race participants will eat at a poolside café, become acquainted with monkeys and parrots in a natural setting, tour the history of the island, ride a zip line through the jungle canopy, etc. (some of those activities require additional fees). From treetops to sea chests there are adventures that abound! This evening we all enjoy another relaxing dinner and evening on the ship.
(Oct 23rd) Day 5: BELIZE CITY, BELIZE (CAVE TUBING)
Today is a full day in Belize! The port in Belize requires a boat tender to reach the shore. This is all part of the fun! Once we are all in the port we will meet and be introduced to our local tour guides and options for the day. For those participating in the service activities will travel to our service destination located near the port. We will enjoy serving at a local school and also focus on assignments for the day from our instructional sessions. In the afternoon you will have the choice of participating in Cave Tubing, Snorkeling on a Paradise Island or visiting one of the most impressive destination sites in Belize: the Lamoni ruins. The Lamoni ruin excursion is time intensive and requires an extra fee. It not only showcases many of the beauties and wonders of Belize, but it also has significance to those of the LDS faith. (This area is believed by many to be that of the events of King Lamoni. The local ruin bears his name). We highly recommend the Cave Tubing! This will be a fantastic day seeing the sights and sounds of Belize. We will enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening together on the boat and engage in all the fun activities planned for us by the Royal Caribbean staff.
(Oct 24th) Day 6: COZUMEL, MEXICO
We will disembark and have a little shopping time as we are securing transportation and providers for our activities and to our service locations. Cozumel has beautiful beaches and gorgeous Caribbean water with many opportunities. Those participating in the service activities will have the opportunity to bless and work with two organizations today; Siudad de Angeles (City of Angels) Orphanage, Hogar Juan Pablo II Old Folks Home. Following the service our afternoon will be free to explore the island as your heart desires (snorkeling, visiting a ruin, or enjoying a beach). Those interested can engage in another fun “Amazing Race” event unique to Cozumel. Those participating will be divided into teams and explore Cozumel and engage in activities that acquaint us with the country, culture, and island. You will also gain insights into your relationship with teammates. This evening we enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening on board the ship.
(Oct 25th) Day 7: FINAL DAY AT SEA
After three straight days of shore explorations, service, and “Race Activities”, the final day of our tour will provide a welcomed day of rest and recovery on board our amazing cruise ship! We will all enjoy our last evening together enjoying the amenities and activities provided.
(Oct 26th) Day 8: RETURN TO OUR HOMES
Today, we disembark early in the morning, and make our way to the airport. We return to our various destinations with amazing memories, new friends, and strengthened relationships!
